  • PICCAN delivers paracetamol for children via an easy to administer syringe and a pleasant orange flavour.

    Paracetamol has been used clinically for more than a century with only rare occasions of adverse side effects.

  • Mild to moderate pain such as: headache, toothache, minor aches, sore throats and sprains.

    Fevers associated with colds & flu.

  • Ages 3-6 months (more than 5kg)
    Take 2.5ml with no more than 3 doses in any 24 hours period

    Ages 6-12 months
    Take 2.5ml with no more than 3 doses in any 24 hours period

    Ages 1-2 years
    Take 2.5ml with no more than 3-4 doses in any 24 hours period

    Ages 3-7 years
    Take 5ml with no more than 3-4 doses in any 24 hours period

    Ages 8-12 years
    Take 10ml with no more than 3-4 doses in any 24 hours period

How to use the syringe

Shake the bottle for about 5 seconds and then remove the childproof cap by pushing the cap down and twisting anti-clockwise at the same time.

You will notice a reducer plug in the neck of the bottle.

Step 1

Gently insert the end of the syringe into the hole and ensure it is secure.

Step 2

Hold the syringe in place and turn the bottle upside down. Using your other hand, gently pull-down the syringe plunger to the required dosage (either 2.5 ml or 5 ml).

Step 3

Turn the bottle the right way up, then remove the syringe by holding onto the bottle and twisting out gently.

Place the syringe inside the child's mouth against the cheek and press the plunger slowly to release the medicine.

After use, the reducer plug should remain in the neck of the bottle. Wipe the top clean and rinse the cap before replacing. Wash the syringe by drawing the plunger in and out in soapy water several times. Then rinse the syringe in clean water in the same way.

Pain & Fever FAQS

  • PICCAN Paracetamol belongs to a group of drugs called analgesics (painkillers) and antipyretics that relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.

    PICCAN Paracetamol can be used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain (e.g. headache, toothache, and period pain) and/or fever (high temperature). PICCAN Paracetamol is used to treat mild to moderate pain and/or fever in infants (older than 3 months), children, adolescents and adults (including elderly).

  • Store below 30ºC.
    Store in the original package in order to protect from light.

    Keep this medicine out of the sight and reach of children.

    Do not use this medicine after the expiry date which is stated on the carton and on the bottle label after EXP. The expiry date refers to the last day of that month.
    After first-opening the bottle, the oral suspension should be used in the next 6 months.

    Do not use this medicine if you notice visible signs of deterioration.

    Do not throw away any medicines via wastewater or household waste. Ask your pharmacist how to throw away medicines you no longer use. These measures will help protect the environment.

  • The active substance is paracetamol. The other ingredients are:

    citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, sucrose, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), orange flavour [natural flavouring substance(s), artificial flavouring substance(s), ethanol, butylated hydroxyanisole (E320)], xanthan gum and purified water.
